During the Christmas season, love is emphasized, whether you are a Christian or not. In Christmas specials, movies, music, books, and activities, love is often the focus. However, during this season, people (myself included) often get too busy and stressed to truly love those around them.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. – John 15:12
Showing love to loved ones is important all the time, but somehow people forget to do so at Christmas, when love is supposed to be the focus. This Christmas, I want to focus on loving those around me like Jesus did. Jesus, being himself, never got stressed and always found time to show love.
Let all your things be done with charity. – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Sometimes it can be hard to know how to show love in the best way. From my experience, looking for people’s love languages and using them is a great way to show how much you love someone. Some people appreciate kind words most; to others, kind acts make them feel loved. If you want to find your love languages or someone else’s, check out this quiz!
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. – Colossians 3:14 (KJV)
This holiday season, will you try to show love? I pray that I will.
