Last week, it hit -12° at my house. That was unpleasant. But God is full of surprises, because over the weekend it rose about 70° higher!

The crazy weather inspired me to write about sunlight. It was gray and cold for so long, and then for a few days it was bright and sunny and warm(ish). The sun made all the difference! The whole world looked different. The daylight lasted longer. The house was brighter inside. The cat was in a state of extreme ecstasy because she figured out a way to sit in a sun patch AND atop a heating vent simultaneously. I didn’t mind working outside. I was in a better mood. It was wonderful.

Jesus, the Son, is much like that. When we receive salvation, our perspective changes. We are light inside. Things don’t seem so bad. Life on earth still isn’t perfect, just as we aren’t perfect, but with Jesus, everything is so much better. And it will be perfect one day.

How has Jesus changed your life?

Have you had crazy temps too?

-12 degrees is awful! It got down to the teens here in NC, which is more than cold enough for me. Now, it’s in the 70’s. Great comparison between the sun and the Son; they both make me feel more joyful!

  2. Ah, yes, the kitty was certainly happy, probably dreaming of her days in your sunny windowsill, pressed against the screen. 🙂
