Word of the Week – Family

Today’s word was suggested by my mom, Meredith πŸ˜Š

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. – Exodus 20:12, KJV

Why God should choose the meanest, basest, most unworthy individuals with absolutely nothing to commend them at all to God, except their miserable, lost condition, and then exalt them to become the sons of God, members of the divine family, and use them for His glory, is beyond all reason and human understanding. Yet that is grace. – M.R. DeHaan

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. -Colossians 3:13, KJV

If you want to change the world, go home and love your family. -Mother Teresa

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6, KJV

  2. The quote from Mother Teresa jumped out at me. All of the verses and quotes were great, but that one reminded me of my important role as a father.

  3. I just love the verses from Colossians – we should be forbearing and forgiving with our family members most of all, even though we can sometimes be less than our best selves around them. But you guys make it easy for me most of the time to behave as the passage says. πŸ™‚
