I Get Hangry…

Much as I hate to admit it, I have a weakness. I get hangry. Hungry-angry. I don’t get this way at home most of the time; I have a schedule to prevent it: eating at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. If I do that, then I pretty much am okay. But we have been on vacation for the past week and not really eating on a regular schedule, so I have gotten very hangry more than once 👿. We only ate out a few times, but each time we did, the wait was so long. I’m not just saying that because I was dying of starvation, but like we were still awaiting food 45 min after ordering. We joked that the reason was because we were in the South, and they are so much slower there because of their cement-like breakfast 😂.

Anyway, when I get hangry, stay away from me. Seriously, I try not to talk at all because I’m in such a bad mood. Many times I have said something unkind without that intention at all! I don’t like this fact about myself, but it’s true. And I know God made me that way for a reason; I’m not entirely sure what the reason is, but part of it is probably teaching me to watch my mouth 😜! If I just let my mouth run unfiltered, whether hangry or not,  I would probably have no friends and possibly no family. But thanks to lots of prayer on the subject, I am getting better at watching what I say, especially when I am hangry.

Thanks for reading! Do you get hangry, like me, or are you one of those people that can forget to eat? Comment below.

  3. Who forgets to eat? 🤔 I am with you! I can definitely tell when it is time to eat! I always have something stashed in my purse too! Very true about having to make sure we guard our mouths from unwholesome talk when we get ancy. For me, having kids that listen to everything you say and how you react means that I have to be extra careful!
So what breakfast in the south is cement? P.S. I am in the wonderful state of South Carolina! ❤️ You are probably referring to grits, huh?

    1. My mom and older brother, who are similar in a lot of ways actually forget to eat. My dad and I are very similar too, and we never forget to eat!
Yeah, grits, biscuits and gravy, pancakes soaked in butter and syrup… Lol, I’m sure not everyone in the South eats like that!
I was actually vacationing in SC last week! What part do you live in?

      1. Haha! That sounds like an amazing breakfast! Of course, only eaten when on vacation. 😉 I am right below Charlotte NC, we are about 3-4hours from the coast – Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

I live in the north and all you need to do is go to a restaurant that has a breakfast buffet and you’ll get the same. 🙂

  4. Perhaps, God allows this so that you will be especially aware of taking care of yourself? And I think we all have a tendency to get Hangry or cranky when our blood sugar runs low, dear Shae! Love the Mr. Bean gif, by the way! Soo funny! ❤ ❤

Love this post!! I definitely think there are times I get hangry. I think the main issue is when my patience runs short. WATCH OUT! I’m the same, actually. When I am angry I tend to stay quiet because I do not want to talk while angry. My mom always had an issue with this when I was teen. If I got angry over something she wanted me to talk, and I never wanted to, and on the occasion I did because she kept pushing it lol I would get in trouble for running my mouth or snapping.

I can say now I don’t really get as angry as I used to. That’s a blessing!

    1. Maybe I’ll grow out of it too lol! But yes, it feels like the hungrier I get, the shorter my patience fuse becomes.
