My cat, Miss Potter, will sometimes leave me little gifts. This isn’t the traditional cat-to-human gift of a mouse or bird. These packages from heaven are her hairballs. Because Miss P. loves me so much, she decides to present them to me at the convenient hour of one to five in the morning. The furry beast sleeps on my bed, so at those times in the morning, I am aroused to the pleasant sound of her yakking up a hairball right in front of my face. I am a light sleeper, though, and will usually wake up in time to hurl Miss P. off the bed or rush her to the toilet. As you can imagine, it’s not the highlight of my day (especially if I don’t wake up in time! Once, that happened and I woke later to discover a nasty, unidentifiable object near my face π³). And that isn’t the only annoying thing she does. She’ll hear my alarm go off and whine and yowl and try to trip me until she is fed. Miss P. will sit on me just as I was about to get up, and then be angry with me for moving. She will beg for dinner starting at around three in the afternoon. She will fall fast asleep in a ball in the center of my pillow before I get a chance to put my head down. I could go on and on. And yet, when that soft little creature is purring on my lap and gives me a slow, content blink, my heart melts and I remember why I love her. When she rubs her cheek on me, claiming me as her own, I’m glad I have her. When she entertains me trying to murder a bit of fuzz, I laugh so hard and don’t think about the annoying things she does. I bet God feels the same way about us. We make the same mistakes over and over. We don’t listen to Him. We make promises that we never keep. We forget to talk to Him or appreciate all He has done. But He still loves us unconditionally. He is willing to overlook all our flaws and failures. He’s better than any cat owner βΊ
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. -Psalm 86:15, KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16, KJV
Thanks for reading! Can you relate to this post? Comment below. God bless y’all, BBG
Love this! Reminds me of a kitten we found in the woods. She was sick and gross looking but we looked beyond all that and fell in love with her just like God looks beyond all our yucky failures and loves us. Hey, I’m going to have to write a story about that day! Watch for it on amazinggodstories.blog sometime in the next month or so! Oh, and I love Miss Potter’s picture with the one eye! I can just see her plotting her next gift!

I am definitely a dog person, but Miss Potter is so gorgeous! And I LOVE her name so much! My grandpa had a cat named Phoenix who looked almost identical! He was the best cat ever.
Haha, animals can be hard work but they’re also SO funny! Oh, I love this post so much! What would we do without our furry family members?! β€

Not many people think Miss P. is gorgeous because she only has one eye, but I do π
Thanks πβ€π

She may have only one eye, but that doesn’t mean she’s not pretty! She really is super cute and it sounds like she has quite the personality. β€
