Algebra, My Worst Enemy

This has been a long week in school. And you know why? One word: algebra. This year, the latest curriculum was very expensive, so we settled for some outdated books, and boy, are we paying for it. We are used to the newer books from previous years, but the ones we have now use unintelligible language, give too much work and not enough examples, never review, and are overall frustratingly confusing. I have a newfound strong dislike *cough, cough* for algebra. We have begun taking quizzes in a discussion format rather than actually taking and grading them. So long story short, I’m very glad tomorrow is Saturday. But what do I really have to complain about? I homeschool, I have a great teacher, and we can go at our own pace to get through this. I am being educated, for goodness sake! What’s to complain about when it comes to that? There are so many uneducated people in the world. And I should also view algebra as a challenge. A challenge that I will win, as long as I try.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; -Colossians 3:23, KJV

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. -Philippians 4:13, KJV

  1. I struggled with algebra in high school, but when I hit my twenties, for some reason, it all clicked and I became an algebra wiz! 😃 So, there’s hope. I promise! 😊❤️ And I’ll bet your teacher is amazing 😉😊

I cannot stand math. There has never been a time in my life where I didn’t struggle. It was only by the grace of God that I made it through Algebra. Though homeschooled, a friend who used to teach “struggling math learners” (yeah, that’s me 😦 ) actually tutored me through Algebra. Alas and alack… But, I can say I rejoiced the day I finished my algebra book. Lol!

I struggle with math. I know there are some really good websites that are supposed to help and show examples. It’s great you are positive about the challenge 🙂 . A lot of people could learn from that positivity. 🙂
