The Sword Dance

Here I am, at my grandparents’ awesome rental house! We have been having a wonderful time here, a lot of times just talking and relaxing (as we never get to do at home). My Nana and I email back and forth pretty much every day when they’re not here, and in those messages somewhere I asked her to teach me a Scottish sword dance, as she had a career dancing in her past and still remembered the sword dance. But for the past several months, she has had a problem with vertigo and gets dizzy easily. It is improving steadily, but she obviously can’t show me the choreography, only half do it and describe it as best she can. Plus, this style is something totally new to me, so she couldn’t tell me a combination of names of moves, like with ballet or any other style I’ve learned before; I’d have no clue what she was talking about. Trying to learn a dance without being able to see it is really hard! It’s like trying to go through life without the Holy Spirit to guide us. We get lost and make mistakes without knowing it, we stumble and trip over our own feet. Even Christians can learn to ignore the Holy Spirit and shut out the guidance. How about you? Do you listen to the Holy Spirit?

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. -Luke 11:28, KJV

Thanks for reading! Have you ever seen a sword dance before? Are you a dancer? Comment below! I love hearing from you. God bless y’all, BibleBloggerGirl

Well, I’ve never heard of that dance. Is it like Irish River Dancing? I don’t dance, but I adore classical ballets and practically have Swan Lake memorized. I like it mostly because of the music 😉

    1. That’s so cool! I’m actually in the Nutcracker right now. If you look back at the post, I have a link on the words “Scottish sword dance” or something like that. It should lead to a video if you’re interested.

I know for the times I don’t listen, He pricks MY spirit, and is like, “HEY!” ❤
