The Fruit of the Spirit

Hi everyone! Today’s topic is The Fruit of the Spirit. It is definitely a well-worn subject, but I hope I’ll shed some new light on it for you!

First of all, you may be thinking, “What in the world is ‘The Fruit of the Spirit’?” Well, it is a list of things Christians should strive to have in their lives. It’s found in the Bible, Galatians 5:22-23, to be exact. So, in KJV ( King James Version, one of the oldest English translations of the Bible), here is the Fruit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. How can we apply these in our world today? Once, my dad and I were driving to my dance class in his car. We were discussing what kind of music is ok to listen to as a Christian teen. He told me that, secular or Christian, the music should inspire some of the Fruit of the Spirit inside me. I have used that guideline in my life ever after that, not only in music, but in books, movies, TV shows, whatever. I try to be conscious of how it makes me feel. Rebellious? Sinful? Turn that off. Joyful? Peaceful? Faith-inspiring? Turn it up! Now, I can’t think of a song that inspires patience (unless it’s some Sunday school song), but just use your own judgment. You have a brain. Memorize the list of the Fruits and run them through your mind if you’re trying a new artist or show. Does it make you feel uncomfortable now? If it does, there’s no reason to listen or watch anymore. Trust me, you will feel stronger by resisting temptation. And don’t worry about being cool; if they’re true friends and you say,”it’s not my thing,” they won’t judge. Well, I hope this post has helped you to see the Fruit of the Spirit in a new way. 1. Wonderful guideline suggestion. There’s no point feasting on rubbish when there’s so much lovely fruit to enjoy; good stuff increases our joy too.

I will have to check that one out, it sounds familiar! Hey, I forgot to let you know. I complied a huge list of all of the Christian bands/singers I’ve found and I added the list to my blog page. I know a lot of people either are looking for music, or believe there is not a lot of Christian music. I’m here to prove that wrong 😉

Here is the link, if you are ever searching for new music. https://nobledevotionblog.wordpress.com/christian-music-bandssongs-playlist/
